Our customer is a leading U.S. mortgage lender and servicer, specializing in VA, FHA, and conventional loans. The company supports millions of borrowers nationwide through retail, wholesale, and correspondent channels. With a strong focus on enabling homeownership, it operates as a full-service provider, offering end-to-end mortgage solutions while maintaining one of the largest loan origination and servicing footprints in the country.

 The customer was using manual testing across Xpanse, ACP’s Digi App, and platforms like Salesforce & Sagent. The lack of  automation caused delays, inconsistencies, and increased efforts due to complex UI, data-driven scenarios, and absence of unified validation.

Objective Summary

The customer’s Xpanse implementation lacked an automation framework and relied entirely on manual test execution. This resulted in time-consuming processes, increased error rates, and delays in release cycles. The customer’s new "Digi App" functionality within ACP featured complex, dynamic UI, and data-driven scenarios that were difficult to automate using traditional scripting methods -  leading to higher testing effort and extended timelines. Additionally, manual testing across multiple platforms - including Salesforce and Sagent - was inconsistent and inefficient as they lacked a unified approach to validate both UI and API layers. This was adversely impacting test coverage and release velocity.

We designed and implemented a Selenium-based automation framework to support functional and regression testing, enabling seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines for accelerated delivery. To further enhance automation capabilities, we leveraged an AI-powered Copilot automation tool to intelligently identify UI elements, manage dynamic content and auto-generate xpaths, building resilient test scripts— thus minimizing manual effort. Additionally, we leveraged an existing Selenium-based framework to automate web UI and API testing for regression and in-sprint test cases. The Playwright automation framework, leveraging TypeScript, has been recently adopted to enhance test execution speed and improve element locator handling. This framework is slated for organization-wide adoption and supports integration testing capabilities.

The customer managed to reduce manual testing efforts, accelerate test execution time, and significantly improve test coverage and release efficiency with our solution. They could also accelerate test development, improve script reliability, and reduce overall testing time - enabling faster releases and enhanced test accuracy. Regression time was also reduced - resulting in accelerated multi-app release cycles with consistent, reliable automation.
